Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase 09: Rita King, “Digital Diplomacy: Understanding Islam through Virtual Worlds”
Watch this and tell me if it doesn’t make you want to throw your computer in a canal. Rita J King, who spends part of her busy time as a Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Council for Imperialism Ethics in International Affairs, murmurs five minutes of state-of-the-art meaningless, utopian, Web 2.0, Bono-esque nonsense (“Is it disrespectful to wear digital shoes in a virtual mosque?”), with just enough codewords to remind her listeners that propaganda is what it’s all about underneath the turtlenecks (“the nation that facilitates the rest of the world telling its story will emerge as the greatest digital superpower”).
